Beaconsfield Unveils the Community Wall: A Constellation of Generosity at the Heart of the Future Cultural Centre <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A generous act, forever engraved at the heart of the Cultural Centre<\/span><\/em><\/p>

The City of Beaconsfield is proud to present the Community Wall, a permanent artistic installation that will allow residents, families, and groups to leave a lasting mark at the heart of the future Cultural Centre.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Inspired by the movement of stars across the night sky, the Community Wall transforms individual acts of generosity into a collective constellation. Located in the main lobby of the future Cultural Centre, near the multipurpose room, it will be one of the first things visitors see as they walk through the doors. Each plaque will\u00a0represent\u00a0a story, a memory, a family, a friendship, or a tribute that helped bring the Centre to life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Anyone who makes a gift of $1,000 to $4,999 to the Beaconsfield Cultural Centre Campaign may reserve a plaque on the Community Wall. Two recognition levels are available: Level\u202f1 ($1,000 to $2,499, silver finish) and Level\u202f2 ($2,500 to $4,999, champagne finish). Only 200 plaques are available, on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Participants are free to choose the message on their plaque\u2014a family name, a tribute, the name of a loved one, or any other text that is meaningful to them, within a 25-character limit. Families, groups of friends, and local associations may also take part by making a joint gift under a shared name.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cThe Community Wall was born from a deep conviction: public spaces have the power to tell stories. Drawing on the movement of stars, we wanted to create an installation that is both timeless and deeply rooted in the life of the community. Each plaque, in its verticality, invites the eye to rise and discover the countless stories that made this Centre possible,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>says the Lemay team.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Community Wall is part of the community phase of the campaign, alongside the Spark Events and the network of community ambassadors. It complements the other recognition opportunities available to donors, including naming\u00a0opportunities\u00a0within the Centre. To date, the campaign has raised $1.8\u202fM toward its $2\u202fM goal.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Last Wednesday, we gathered for the inauguration of the new marina pavilion on the Cultural Centre site.<\/p>

The integration of the marina property into Centennial Park will provide more access to the waterfront for all residents and a complete reimagining of this important gathering place. The new marina pavilion will democratize access to Beaconsfield waterfront, with public washrooms when the project is complete.<\/p>

Beaconsfield, May\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>21<\/span><\/strong>, 2026\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 The City of Beaconsfield is proud to announce the launch of the community phase of the Beaconsfield Cultural Centre Campaign. This new milestone marks the beginning of the Spark Events, initiatives organized by local associations and residents to bring the community together around the future multi-purpose Cultural Centre.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Complementing the philanthropic campaign, the community phase invites residents and local organizations to take part in the journey toward the future Cultural Centre. Spark Events are not only intended to support the campaign \u2014 they will also help build, right now, the connections and energy that will bring the Centre to life.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Book sales, exhibitions, picnics: each Spark Event will<\/span>\u00a0contribute to\u00a0<\/span>the spirit of the future Cultural Centre even before its doors open. Well beyond the funds raised, these initiatives will strengthen the bonds between residents, organizations, and partners who will help make the Centre a vibrant, welcoming space deeply rooted in the community.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Twelve cultural and community associations have already committed to organizing an event in support of the Beaconsfield Cultural Centre Campaign. The City wishes to acknowledge their involvement and generosity toward this collective project.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The community phase also draws on a network of approximately forty community ambassadors whose role is to champion the project throughout the community and mobilize residents around the future Cultural Centre. The campaign also offers\u00a0<\/span>various ways<\/span>\u00a0to leave a lasting mark on the project, including through the Community Wall, which will allow donors to become part of the Cultural Centre’s history.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This commitment is also reflected on the philanthropic front. The Friends of the Beaconsfield Library have announced a $50,000 donation to the campaign,<\/span>\u00a0a leading example\u00a0<\/span>demonstrating<\/span>\u00a0the dedication of local associations<\/span>\u00a0to this collective endeavour.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

“The library has always been at the heart of what we do: bringing people together around knowledge, reading, and culture. The Cultural Centre extends that vision. We are proud to contribute to<\/span>\u00a0the Centre<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and to encourage other organizations to do the same,” says the Friends of the Library Board.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Thanks to the commitment of visionary donors and the growing support of Beaconsfield organizations and residents, the campaign has already raised $1.8 million toward its $2 million goal.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The design for Beaconsfield\u2019s future Multipurpose Cultural Centre, created by the firm Lemay, was awarded Gold at the 2024 World Architecture News Awards<\/strong>, in one of the competition\u2019s most prestigious categories: Future Projects<\/em>.<\/p>

This award highlights the excellence of a design that is both inspiring and sustainable, and deeply rooted in its natural surroundings. The jury praised the building\u2019s seamless integration into Centennial Park, its eco-friendly wood construction, and its inclusive and community-focused vision.<\/p>

Conceived as a true bridge between culture and green space<\/strong>, the centre will become a vibrant hub in the heart of the park \u2014 a place where knowledge, creativity, and the outdoors come together.<\/p>
