Reimagining SPACE:
a story written with you
A collective dream for Beaconsfield
How can we create a place where everyone feels welcome, inspired, and connected?
In 2019, through a series of workshops, exchanges, and discussions, our community shaped a strong vision to redefine the future of Centennial Park and the Lord Reading property.
The vision guiding this initiative was clear:
"Develop a revitalization project for Centennial Park and the Lord Reading property in collaboration with Beaconsfield residents, combining culture, leisure, and nature."
Step by step, this vision came to life — driven by your dreams, your ideas, your energy.
The steering committee: guiding the vision
At the heart of the project: a passionate committee made up of residents, elected officials, and City representatives.
Their mission:
- Structure the consultation process
- Analyze and prioritize ideas submitted by residents
- Develop 11 major recommendations to guide the project
A few key facts:
- 8 engaged residents selected through a public call
- A transparent, collaborative process
- The foundation for today’s vision
"Every voice mattered. Every idea helped shape our future Centre."
Our collective journey: shaped by your ideas
From February to May 2019, a series of co-creation workshops helped shape an ambitious vision for the site’s future. We explored, discussed, and imagined — together.
A Dialogue Evening in October 2019 brought the process full circle: a final opportunity to validate the collective vision and gather ideas for the future Centre.

Workshop highlights: what we imagined together
Through over 300 citizen contributions, a shared vision emerged:
- Preserve and enhance green spaces for community well-being
- Strengthen the connection to the water: improve access and showcase the marina
- Create a multipurpose centre: cultural, community-oriented, open to all generations
- Make universal accessibility a top priority
- Encourage creativity, learning, and social connection
- Develop a vibrant, sustainable site that lives all year long
From imagination to construction
Reimagining SPACE planted the seeds.
Today, this dream is becoming reality through the future Cultural Centre — the first concrete phase of the broader Imagine Centennial project.
This Centre will be a bridge — connecting generations, weaving together culture and nature, strengthening the bonds across our community.
"Strong bridges aren’t built with steel or concrete. They’re built with dreams shared and brought to life."
Together, we imagined.
Together, we are building a future — one bridge at a time.
